PLPC, M.Ed., M.Phil., M.A., PhD
With Elizabeth, you can expect to receive an expert level of wholistic, clinical care enhanced by 15 years of studying the human condition from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
Elizabeth Quiros has been working as a provisionally licensed counselor (PLPC) under the supervision of Jessica Davidson, LPC since August 2020.
Not your average PLPC…
While “PLPC” usually indicates an early-career clinician with limited experience, this is not an accurate representation of what Elizabeth brings to the counseling relationship. In addition to an M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Elizabeth has a Ph.D. in Religion & Psychology from Vanderbilt University, where she specialized in the intersection of spirituality and psychology in counseling while working as a pastoral counselor for several years in Nashville, TN. Because of differing state licensure requirements, practicing in Missouri meant returning to graduate school and starting over professionally as a PLPC. The education and experience Elizabeth gained through her doctoral work and pastoral counseling practice mean that she has achieved academic expertise and received professional supervision in the responsible integration of spirituality in the counseling context.
She also has years of experience teaching pastoral care and various forms of ethics (theological, bioethical, health care, and public health ethics) at the University level to students entering professions in medicine and ministry. This has prepared her to meet the needs of the whole person – who so often presents with not just mental health concerns, but ethical and spiritual ones as well. With Elizabeth, you can expect to receive an expert level of wholistic, clinical care enhanced by 15 years of studying the human condition from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
Apart from her counseling work, Elizabeth has lived out a passionate commitment to social justice, spending several years living in an intentional community providing hospitality for unhoused women, children, and transgender persons in North City St. Louis; working in non-profit organizations; and engaging in social justice activism. She recently became a licensed foster parent and currently lives in Eureka, MO with her partner, where they hope to welcome their first foster children soon.
