Fees & Payment
How much does it cost?
Initial Consultation (15 min) – Free
The initial consultation gives us a chance to discuss the concerns bringing you to therapy and whether I could be a good fit for helping you to work through them. If we decide to work together, we will schedule your first session at the end.
Intake Session (80 min) – $240
A longer intake session (your first full session) is typically recommended for clients presenting with DID because there are multiple histories, concerns, and goals to discuss. At the end, we will schedule a regular weekly appointment time for subsequent sessions.
Standard Weekly Session (50 min) – $150
After your first (intake) session, we will meet every week for a standard 50-minute session. Rates are the same for both virtual and in-person sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I can provide you with a monthly “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for “out of network” (OON) care. Contact your insurance company to learn (1) whether your policy offers reimbursement, (2) the amount you can expect to be reimbursed, and (3) how to submit your claims.
Good Faith Estimate: As of January 1, 2022, clients who don’t use insurance to cover the cost of medical services, including psychotherapy, are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of the likely cost of care. You can request a Good Faith Estimate from me before your first appointment or at any point during treatment. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Scheduling, Frequency, & Duration
When will we meet?
I see clients Tuesdays through Fridays between 10am and 4pm. We will work together to find a regular day and time that works with your schedule. If you need to adjust our meeting day/time at any point (either just one week or ongoing), you can let me know at the end of your session or text me with at least 24-hours’ notice.
What if I need to cancel at the last minute?
If you need to cancel your appointment with less than 24-hours’ notice, you will be given an opportunity to reschedule for some other time during the same week before being charged for the missed session. Clients are charged in full for missed appointments and late cancellations (less than 24-hours’ notice).
How often will we meet?
Weekly, 50-minute sessions: Clients meet with me once per week for the standard session length of 50-minutes. If additional support is needed, we may agree to meet twice per week for a period of time. As less support is needed, we may decide to decrease session frequency to every-other week.
What if I can only afford to meet every-other week?
I have found that outcomes are best when clients commit to meeting weekly, at a regular day and time, for at least the first 8-12 weeks of treatment. This gives us an opportunity to create a strong therapeutic relationship, establish therapy as part of your regular routine, and allows you to experience some positive results from your efforts in the short-term. After the first 8 weeks, we can discuss the prudence of going down to every-other week.
Please note that there is a surcharge for meeting every-other week ($200 per 50-min session, compared to $150 for weekly sessions). This is because meeting with clients every-other week creates scheduling difficulties and requires me to carry an increased caseload.
